Import Holidays Calendar

The Import Holidays Calendar feature allows Pagerly to automatically account for holidays in your on-call schedules. This ensures engineers are not assigned on-call duties during holidays and that rotations stay fair and accurate without manual adjustments.

1. Navigate to https://workspace.pagerly.io/calendar

2. Click "Import Holidays Calendar"

1. Calendar ID

   • Add the calendar ID of the holiday or schedule you want to import.

2. Select the User Who Will Be on Holiday Choose how Pagerly should identify the user associated with the holiday event:

   • Assignee: Select the user who was assigned to the event.

   • Creator: Select the user who created the event.

Action

Choose how Pagerly should handle the rotation when a holiday is detected for the selected user.

🔁 Skip the user and assign to next in queue

• The user is automatically skipped for the holiday period.

• On-call duty is assigned to the next eligible person in the rotation.

• The skipped user rejoins the rotation normally after the holiday.

• Slack usergroups, channel notifications, and calendars update automatically.

📢 Don’t skip — alert on channel

• The user remains assigned to the rotation.

• Pagerly posts a notification in the configured Slack channel highlighting the holiday conflict.

• Allows the team to decide manually whether to swap or add an override.

• No automatic changes are made to the rotation.
