# Raise oncall cover request

This section covers how to raise an on-call cover request in Pagerly.

1\. Navigate to [https://workspace.pagerly.io/calendar](https://workspace.pagerly.io/calendar/)

2\. Click on any rotation.

3\. Select "Request Cover" option.

4\. Select the schedule for which you want to raise the cover request.

5\. By default, the cover request applies to the entire shift. To request partial cover, uncheck the box and manually set the duration.

When manually setting the duration, please note that the cover request must fall within the scheduled shift times.

6\. Add reason for absence.

7\. By default, the cover request is sent to the entire team. To request a specific person, uncheck the box and select the individual users.

If the cover request is targeted to some specific users then only those users can accept that request.

8\. Click "Creating Request".

9\. Cover request created successfully!

10\. To view the cover request, navigate to <https://workspace.pagerly.io/cover-requests>

11\. Actions that can be performed on the generated cover request.

* **Accept Request:** Enabled for all users except the requester.
* **Reject Request:** Enabled for all users except the requester.
* **Cancel Request:** Enabled only for the requester.
